Yann Martel - Life of Pi (2001)

"Life of Pi" had me hooked from the first sentence. An Indian boy and his family must move ah whole zoo from India to Canada. When the boat sinks, the boy ends up in a lifeboat on the Pacific ocean with only a ravenous tiger as company. The book is more than just exciting; it is absurd, funny, moving and unbelievable. It deals with survival, animals and God. The passage on the ocean might be a bit long for some readers, but it was certainly longer for the boy!

I'm still waiting for Yann Martel's next book. Martel, where are you?
